Pharmacological effect

Polisorb combines and removes from the body endogenous and exogenous toxic substances of various nature, including pathogenic bacteria and bacterial toxins, antigens, food allergens, drugs and poisons, heavy metal salts, radionuclide, alcohol.

Polisorb is a light powder of white color, consisting of pure substance without additives, has no taste and odor, is taken internally only in the form of an aqueous suspension.

Polisorb has bacteriostatic, anti-diarrheal, antiviral, anti-allergic, detoxification actions. The most significant features are adaptation, metabolic and cytoprotective effects.

Polisorb is not absorbed into the blood, has an enveloping effect, it creates conditions for the growth of normal intestinal micro flora. The drug is safe for pregnant women, women during lactation, as well as for children from the first day of birth.

The unique effect of the drug allows using it in a wide range of pathological states - from intestinal infections and allergic reactions to alcohol intoxication.

Sorption and detoxification features of Polisorb

Sorption and detoxification features of Polisorb

Polisorb is an inorganic non-selective multifunctional enter sorbent based on highly dispersed silica with chemical formula SiO2 and particle size up to 0.09 mm.

Polisorb has sorption and detoxification features. In the lumen of the GI tract the drug binds and removes from the body endogenous and exogenous toxic substances of various nature, including pathogenic bacteria and bacterial toxins, antigens, food allergens, drugs and poisons, heavy metal salt, radionuclide, alcohol.

Polisorb sorbs some metabolic products, including excess bilirubin, urea, cholesterol and lipid complexes, as well as metabolites responsible for the development of endogenous toxicities.

Detoxification of the body

Polisorb suspension is an amorphous substance without a crystalline lattice. Polisorb micro particles form spatial structures with a non-porous surface in the gastrointestinal tract. The main purpose of the drug is the sorption of toxin molecules, excess metabolic products, biologically active substances, heavy metal, antigens and microorganisms. It makes Polisorb an effective drug for detoxification of the body.

Adsorption of harmful substances

Polisorb sorption surface is much higher than most enter sorbents ≥ 300 mg/g. It means that detoxification is as effective in the infectious process that significantly relieves the patient's condition. Suspension, passing through the intestine, adsorbs harmful substances with any molecular weight, including large allergens, viruses and bacteria. Thus, Polisorb reduces the intensity of absorption of toxins into the blood.

Blocking microbial bodies

Adsorption of microorganisms goes within 1-4 minutes after contact with Polisorb. In this process, microbial particles are bound by the drug and glued together, that leads to the loss of their pathogenic activity (ability to reproduce). Gluing microbial bodies, Polisorb effectively blocks their vital activity, demonstrating high bacteriostatic features, without entering into chemical interactions. So bacterioglutination capacity of Polisorb reaches 10 billion microbial particles per 1 gram of the drug.

Bowel cleansing

Polisorb normalizes intestinal micro flora and is naturally excreted with harmful substances from the body. Thus Polisorb allows you to reduce the intensity of drug therapy, including antibiotics, hormones and desensitizing drugs.
